Artificial Intelligence will rule Hollywood (intelligently) in 2015, with a slew of both iconic and new robots hitting the screen. From the Turing-bashing "Ex Machina" to old friends R2-D2 and C-3PO, and new enemies like the Avengers' Ultron, sentient robots will demonstrate a number of human and superhuman traits on-screen. But real-life robots may be just as thrilling. In this five-part series Live Science looks at these made-for-the-movies advances in machine intelligence.

When Iron Man and friends regroup in May to battle the titular robot in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," they won't square off against the same old Hollywood droid. Ultron will be a different sort of mechanical man, director Joss Whedon told Yahoo! Movies— because this robot is "bonkers." That craziness, in part, results from learning capacity, a rapidly advancing component of real-life AI.

Blessed and burdened with a tremendous learning capacity, Ultron masters 3,000 years of human history in a flash — without the maturity to handle that knowledge. And so he goes a bit crazy. By turning studiousness into one of his robot's defining features, Whedon mirrors a major ambition of current AI: Engineers want their robots to learn — hopefully as well as, if not better than, humans.

So-called "deep learning" AI systems have taken off, with the number of labs working on the tech multiplying, Patrick Ehlen, head of deep learning at Loop AI Labs, told the Observer. Google last year acquired London's DeepMind Technologies, whose secretive Neural Turing Machine project aims to construct a computer that can learn like a person. [Super-Intelligent Machines: 7 Robotic Futures]

Though details on the project are thin, the tech essentially models a self-learning AI mind on the structures of the mammalian brain, Chris Eliasmith, a computational neuroscience researcher at the University of Waterloo in Canada, told Live Science.

"In biology, there's a loop from the basal ganglia to the cortex and back" — the basal ganglia acting as a controller, the cortex as memory, Eliasmith said. "In a Neural Turing Machine, you have the same system of memory and a controller."

Those structures permit "reinforcement learning," Eliasmith said, in which individuals learn new behavior based on the rewards they get for taking different actions. The brain, or neural network, mediates this learning, with the controller assigning weights to various actions based on their rewards, and the memory storing that data.

The core idea is not necessarily new — neuroscientists have been studying this kind of learning since Pavlov first tricked his dogs to associate a ringing bell with feeding time, Eliasmith said. But the attempt to model it in an artificial computer is a new engineering tactic, he said. Today's more powerful processors have made such neuronal modeling more feasible.

Brad Pitt's biography

William Bradley Pitt or commonly known as "Brad Pitt" was born on 18 December 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA.

Biography Of Brad Pitt, The Sexiest man alive:

An actor and producer known as much for his versatility as he is for his handsome face, Golden Globe-winning actor Brad Pitt's most widely recognized role may be Tyler Durden in Fight Club (1999). But his portrayals of Billy Beane in Moneyball (2011), and Rusty Ryan in the remake of Ocean's Eleven (2001) and its sequels, also loom large in his filmography.

Pitt was born William Bradley Pitt on December 18th, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and was raised in Springfield, Missouri. He is the son of Jane Etta (Hillhouse), a school counselor, and William Alvin Pitt, a truck company manager. He has a younger brother, Douglas (Doug) Pitt, and a younger sister, Julie Neal Pitt. At Kickapoo High School, Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for "el Pollo Loco".
Pitt's earliest credited roles were in television, starting on the daytime soap opera Another World (1964) before appearing in the recurring role of Randy on the legendary prime time soap opera Dallas (1978). Following a string of guest appearances on various television series through the 1980s, Pitt gained widespread attention with a small part in Thelma & Louise (1991), in which he played a sexy criminal who romanced and conned Geena Davis. This lead to starring roles in badly received films such as Johnny Suede (1991) and Cool World (1992).

But Pitt's career hit an upswing with his casting in A River Runs Through It (1992), which cemented his status as an multi-layered actor as opposed to just a pretty face. Pitt's subsequent projects were as quirky and varied in tone as his performances, ranging from his unforgettably comic cameo as stoner roommate Floyd in True Romance (1993) to romantic roles in such visually lavish films as Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) and Legends of the Fall (1994), to an emotionally tortured detective in the horror-thriller Se7en (1995). His portrayal of frenetic oddball Jeffrey Goines in Twelve Monkeys (1995) won him a Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.

Pitt's portrayal of Achilles in the big-budget period drama Troy (2004) helped establish his appeal as action star and was closely followed by a co-starring role in the stylish spy-versus-spy flick Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). It was on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith that Pitt, who married Jennifer Aniston in a highly publicized ceremony in 2000, met his current partner Angelina Jolie. Pitt left Aniston for Jolie in 2005, a break-up that continues to fuel tabloid stories years after its occurrence.

He continues to wildly vary his film choices, appearing in everything from high-concept popcorn flicks such as Megamind (2010) to adventurous critic-bait like Inglourious Basterds (2009) and The Tree of Life (2011). He has received two Best Actor Oscar nominations, for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Moneyball (2011). In 2014, he starred in the war film Fury (2014), opposite Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Peña.

Pitt and Jolie have six children, including two sons and a daughter who were adopted.

Cristiano Ronaldo biography 1985-2015
Cristiano Ronaldo is the son of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro (a cooker) andJosé Dinis Aveiro (a Municipal gardener). Many say that Ronaldo's humble family origins are the reason why CR7 manages to deal so well with the fame and spotlights he has nowadays. Cristiano Ronaldo has two older sisters, Liliana Cátiaand Elma, and one older brother, Hugo.
Cristiano Ronaldo family
Cristiano Ronaldo first steps in football/soccer were made in his amateur hometown club called Andorinha, when he was still 8 years old. A couple years later, CR7 moved to CD Nacional, one of the most known teams in Madeira, around his 10th birthday. But he didn't stay there for too long and the year after (1996),Ronaldo was persuaded to join Sporting Lisbon, one of the biggest clubs inPortugal.
Cristiano Ronaldo Andorinha
It's now clear that 1996 was a turnaround year in Cristiano Ronaldo life. By joining Sporting CPRonaldo had to leave his family back in Madeira and start learning how to live on his own. CR7 trained with the youth team in the first years and in 2002, by the age of 16, he made his senior debut against Moreirense, in thePortuguese First Division. In that match, Ronaldo scored a brace and immediatly caught everyone's attention upon him. The European debut took place later on, in the UEFA Champions League qualifier match against Inter Milan.
Cristiano Ronaldo Sporting
By the age of 17, Cristiano Ronaldo really started to attract many attentions throughout the World, and his tremendous performances when playing forPortugal's Youth Team in UEFA's Under 17 Championship, made him one of the most promising stars of the moment. Among many other top clubs, Liverpool andArsenal had some scouts on that tournament. Managers Gérard Houllier and Arsene Wenger were allegadly interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo. However, it was revealed later that both clubs got a bit hesitant on betting in such a young player and Manchester United ended up to rush things and sign Ronaldo in the 2003 pre-season.
Cristiano Ronaldo vs Manchester United
The moment Cristiano Ronaldo definately convinced a top club to sign him, was after a 2003 pre-season friendly match, between Sporting and Manchester United, in the inauguration of the "Estádio José de Alvalade" in Lisbon. The Portuguese side defeated the Red Devils by 3-1 and United players were said to be stunned byCristiano Ronaldo's technique skills as well as his natural talent and kept talking about it on their way home. Rumors say that Sir Alex Ferguson had a chat with his team players and then decided to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, in a transfer fee around15 million euros (£12.24 million pounds).
Cristiano Ronaldo debut vs Bolton
Cristiano Ronaldo's adventure in England, started with a memorable debut forManchester United, coming in as a substitute against Bolton Wanderers and playing for around half an hour. Those 30 minutes are probably still in the memory of many Manchester United fans, since CR7 stunned everyone in the stadium and impressed the traditional harsh English media, with his dazzling dribbles and runs over the wing. Ronaldo scored his first goal for Manchester United, by taking a curled free kick, in a 3-0 win against Portsmouth, in November 2003. However, and despite several promising starts, Cristiano Ronaldo's first two seasons inManchester United received mixed reviews. He got praised for his technique and skills, but he often got criticised for lacking consistency and poor decision making on the field, which seems to be a natural thing at the age of 17 and 18.
Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United
In the year of 2005, Cristiano Ronaldo's father, José Dinis Aveiro, died of an alcoholism liver disease. Ronaldo was 20 years old and that was one of his most difficult moments of his life. CR7 is said to not drink any alcohol as a consequence of what happened with his father.
In 2006 it was widely reported Cristiano Ronaldo and manager at the time Sir Alex Ferguson, had placed a £400 bet in which required the Portugueseinternational to score at least 15 goals that season. Ronaldo won the bet by scoring 17 goals...
The following season, Cristiano Ronaldo and even some bookmakers upped the ante on their sports bet, with Ronaldo putting his hair on the line by promising to completely shave his head should he fail to score 20 goals. However, the bet was eventually declined by Ronaldo himself, after Sir Alex Ferguson requesting for thePortuguese to score 35 goals during that season.

Regarding the Portuguese National TeamCristiano Ronaldo made his senior debut against Kazakhstan a few weeks later, just after being signed by Manchester United, in a match played in August 2003. CR7's first biggest tournament was theEuro 2004, organized by Portugal and Ronaldo managed to help his team reaching the finals, but ended up by being defeated by GreeceCristiano Ronaldophotos in tears after the match were the Portuguese soul mirror that afternoon and those images got spread all around the World. A couple years later, in the World Cup 2006 played in GermanyRonaldo was caught up in a very big controversy, after allegedly pressuring and influencing the referee to send off his Manchester United team mate and England's striker/forward Wayne Rooney, in the quarter finals clash between England and PortugalCristiano Ronaldo ended up being used as the scapegoat for England's defeat in the World Cup and the hatred towards him the following season, could be seen on every stadium the Red Devilshad to play. English fans showed CR7 how much they got upset with the World Cupelimination and started insulting and "booing" Cristiano Ronaldo on every match outside Old Trafford. That situation made CR7 think about leaving England andManchester United. However, Sir Alex Ferguson managed to convince him to stay and, against all odds, Cristiano Ronaldo surprised everyone with a great season in the English Premiership LeagueRonaldo was quoted saying: "All the boos and insults just motivate me training harder and playing better".
Cristiano Ronaldo silence
In 2007, Cristiano Ronaldo won the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year Award and was also voted Footballer of the Year, by the Football Writers Association. That same year and for the first time, Ronaldo also made up to the top 3 finalists for both the FIFA World Player of the Year trophy and the European Player of the Year award. Cristiano Ronaldo kept on his outstanding form in the 2007-2008 season and scored 42 goals in all competitions (31 in the English Premier League), allowing him to be voted again for the PFA Player of The Year and the Football Writers Footballer of the YearCR7 rising performances allowedManchester United to win two titles that season, those being the English Premier League and also the UEFA Champions League trophy, in which Ronaldo scored a goal in the final, after a superb header.

The 2008 year was definately Cristiano Ronaldo glory year at Manchester Unitedand after having won the UEFA Champions LeagueRonaldo won the FIFA World Player of the Year (2008) and the European Player of the Year (2008). In the 2008-2009 season, Cristiano Ronaldo scored another 26 goals, which helpedManchester United to win another English Premier League title and reaching again the final of the UEFA Champions League, in which they ended by losing againstBarcelona this time, by 0-2.
Cristiano Ronaldo FIFA World Player of the Year 2008
In 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo broke another record by becoming the World's most expensive football player, after transfering from Manchester United to Real Madridin July 2009, in a £80 million pounds transfer (around 94 million euros and 132 million US dollars). That was an historic moment, and more than 80 000 fans received and welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo in the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, during his official presentation. Ronaldo's career in Real Madrid started well, scoring plenty of goals on his first matches and only getting stopped by his first injury, in October 2009. However, CR7 recovered his form a few months later and still managed to score 33 goals on his first season playing for Real Madrid, which unfortunately, didn't prove to be enough for the club to win any trophies in the 2009-2010 season.

As for the Portuguese National TeamCristiano Ronaldo captained Portugal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup played in South Africa, but the "Lusitanos" got eliminated in the last 16, against the future World Champions, Spain, getting defeated by 1-0.

In the 3rd of July, 2010, Cristiano Ronaldo announced on his facebook page that he had become a father. The information shocked many fans since there's still a big mistery nowadays, on who is the mother of the Cristiano Ronaldo's sonCR7requested privacy and named his son with his own name, Cristiano Ronaldo Junior. The child is currently in Ronaldo's full custody, while being helped by his mother and sisters.

In the 2010-2011 season, Cristiano Ronaldo had an outstanding personal performance, breaking several all-time records, not only in Real Madrid, but also in the Spanish LeagueRonaldo scored 41 goals in La Liga, breaking the previous38 goal record set by Hugo Sanchez and Telmo ZarraCR7 scored a total of 54 goals and once again, won the Golden Boot award, beating Lionel Messi in the way, who finished the season with 53 goals. However, not everything was perfect, since Real Madrid only won the Copa del Rey and failed to conquer the Spanish League and the UEFA Champions League.
Cristiano Ronaldo lifting Copa del Rey trophy
The 2011-2012 season will always be a memorable one in Real Madrid's history. With Cristiano Ronaldo leading the charge game after game, the Merenguesended with Barcelona's hegemony in Spain and won the Spanish League in a record-breaking fashion. The club reached 100 points that season, the highest ever registered until then, but also broke the record for goals scored, with 121 in 38 games. The Champions League journey ended once more in the semi-finals round, in a penalty shoot-out decision against Bayern Munich. As for the Copa del Rey,Barça knocked out Real Madrid with a 4-3 result on aggregate. Ronaldo had his highest goalscoring season ever, with 60 goals out of 55 games (46 of those goals were scored in La Liga).
Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid 2011-2012, after scoring 60 goals
Following that monumental season, Ronaldo went straight ahead with Portugalinto the EURO 2012 that was going to be held in Poland and Ukraine. Unfortunately for the "Lusitanos", the team ended up falling short to the expectations and got knocked out at the semi-finals against Spain, during the penalties shoot-out. Nevertheless, Cristiano Ronaldo has undoubtedly been one of the best players of the tournament, with three goals scored and several great performances that allowed him to earn a well deserved pick for the "UEFA EURO 2012 Team of the Tournament".
Cristiano Ronaldo in the EURO 2012
On his fourth season wearing a Real Madrid jersey (2012-2013), Ronaldo had nothing left to win in Spain except the Spanish Super Cup. That's precisely the title he started by winning for the Merengues, in August of 2012. The Spanish Leagueadventure didn't go the way everyone expected and Barcelona had a safe and regular campaign, which allowed them to earn a big distance over Real Madrid still very early in the season. The Merengues finished 15 points below Barcelona and would also end up losing the Copa del Rey final to Atletico Madrid. The Champions League brought more of the same for José Mourinho's men, with a third consecutive elimination in the semi-finals, this time at the hands of Borussia Dortmund. But not all was bad that year, since Cristiano Ronaldo ended the season with a perfect record of 55 games and 55 goals, top-goalscorer of theChampions League with 12 goals. As usual, the season ended with a lot of speculation going around about his future...

However, Justin Bieber maintains contact with his father, Jeremy Bieber, who married another woman and had two children.

Justin Bieber’s paternal great-grandfather was a German immigrant to Canada.

During his childhood, Justin Bieber was interested in hockey, soccer, and chess; he often kept his musical aspirations to himself. As he grew, Bieber taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet.

Selena Gomez biography

Selena Gomez was born July 22, 1992 to a Mexican American father and half Italian mother. Named after the popular singer Selena, she was raised alone by her mother in Grand Prairie, Texas when her parents divorced. Mandy later remarried when Selena was 14.

Selena grew up watching her mother prepare for performances. When she was 7, she got a role in "Barney and Friends" and later in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over". Her talent was discovered by Disney Channel through a nationwide search. Her first stint on the channel was as a guest star on "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "Hannah Montana". Blessed with potential, Selena was given her own show as one of the three kid wizards on "Wizards of Waverly Place".

Beside chasing her career in television, Selena also scored minor roles in "Another Cinderella Story" and "Horton Hears a Who!". Her career in Disney got the boost as fellow teen Demi Lovato also gained popularity. Together, the best friends starred in a TV movie called "Princess Protection Program". Due to the success of her TV series, Disney ordered the production of "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie".

Since then, Selena enjoyed the title of Disney darling. Known for acting, Selena also thrives on singing. She recorded for a DisneyMania album and "Another Cinderella Story" soundtrack. Hollywood Records then presented her with recording contract in 2008. She struck a close friendship with the members of Forever the Sickest Kids and made a collaboration in the song "Whoa Oh!".

Selena then formed a music band and called them The Scene. The first album "Kiss & Tell" was released in September 2009 with the first single "Naturally". Album peaked at number 9 on Hot 200 and was certified Platinum by RIAA.

Meanwhile, Selena's first major breakout into the movie world was as one of the titular characters in "Ramona and Beezus". Movie offers kept rolling since then, including "Monte Carlo" and "13 Reasons Why". At the same time, Selena announced her last year on "Wizards".

Selena is also known for her philanthropic works such as being the ambassador for UNICEF. She had done numerous efforts to provide clean water for Ghana and encouraged children to be environmentally-friendly through Disney's Friends for Change.

Business-wise, Selena has developed a production house called July Moon Productions and launched a clothing line called Dream Out Loud. Since she is a green advocate, the line features recycled or eco-friendly materials.

Selena Gomez and the Scene began recording their second studio album in 2009. "A Year Without Rain" was eventually released in September 2010 and did even better on Hot 200 compared to the predecessor.

Sel's personal life was put on the spotlight right when her fame became too big. She was first rumored dating fellow Disney star Nick Jonas before distance separated them. But her biggest high-profiled relationship to date was with Justin Bieber. They went on some public appearances together when both careers are at peaks.

In early 2011, Selena began promoting her third studio album with the release of "Who Says". Speaking of the first single, she said, "I think this song is such a great message for my fans, and it really touched me when I heard it, and I thought it would be perfect for them." The album titled "When the Sun Goes Down" hit the shelves on June 28, 2011 and was followed by a world tour.

In 2013, Selena took part in R-rated movie "Spring Breakers" in addition to readying her fourth album. The record titled "Stars Dance" became her first as a solo artist. After putting out the album, which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard 200, she shifted her focus back on acting. She appeared in "Getaway", "mBehaving and "Rudderless" among others before announcing her first greatest hits album titled "For You" in late 2014.

The album, set for November 24, will be Sel's last project with Hollywood records. Not only will the set feature her biggest hits, but it also includes two original songs titled "The Heart wants What It Wants" and "Do It". She has confirmed that the former song is about her on-again, off-again BF Bieber.

Most Searched terms in 2014

Each year, Google releases a list of the topics we’ve collectively searched for the most over the past 12 months. Each year, I try and see how many I can guess beforehand.

This year, I got about half. How many can you get? [Pro tip: remember, people generally search for depressing/scary stuff more than pretty much anything else.]

Google released two lists this year — one for US search trends, and one for worldwide search trends. The lists are mostly the same, with just a few differences.

US Trending Searches:

Robin Williams
World Cup
Ebola
Malaysia Airlines
Flappy Bird
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
ISIS
Ferguson
Frozen
Ukraine
Global Trending Searches:

Robin Williams
World Cup
Ebola
Malaysia Airlines
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Flappy Bird
Conchita Wurst
ISIS
Frozen
Sochi Olympics

The two lists are strikingly similar, save for the global list leaning toward Conchita Wurst and the Sochi Olympics in place of Ferguson and Ukraine.

Interesting to note: this is the first year in a few where an Apple product didn’t make the cut. (2010 had iPad; 2011 featured both iPhone 5 and iPad 3; 2012 had iPad 3 again; 2013 had the iPhone 5S in spot #2)

Also of note: as far as I can recall, Flappy Bird is the first mobile app to crack Google’s top 10. Having a wildly successful app is one thing — but an app that becomes one of the most searched for things around the entire world? Achievement unlocked. (Google notes that 2048 and Flappy Bird, both one-man projects, beat out Destiny, the most expensive game ever developed.)

(Note: this list is based on year-versus-year search trends; it’s about how popular a topic is this year versus last, not raw frequency. If it were just raw frequency, Google says the most popular searches wouldn’t change much.)
